The Teledyne LeCroy quantumdata M42d Video Analyzer/Generator provides functional and will support compliance testing for video, audio and protocol of DisplayPort 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.4. The M42d supports legacy DisplayPort lane rates of 1.62, 2.7, 5.4, 8.1 Gb/s and the new DP 2.0 higher speed lane rates of 10.0, 13.5, & 20.0 Gb/s data rates with the new line coding—128b/132b. The protocol analyzer provides a snap shot status view and deep analysis using captures of incoming DisplayPort 2.0 streams from source devices including DSC/FEC compressed streams. The M42d’s video generator can be used for testing silicon as well as devices such as displays, USB-C adapters, extenders, etc. The video generator offers a large library of standard video timings and test patterns necessary for testing next generation high resolution displays.

The Teledyne LeCroy quantumdata M42d Video Analyzer/Generator provides functional and will support compliance testing for video, audio and protocol of DisplayPort 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.4. The M42d supports legacy DisplayPort lane rates of 1.62, 2.7, 5.4, 8.1 Gb/s and the new DP 2.0 higher speed lane rates and new line coding—128b/132b—of 10.0, 13.5, & 20.0 Gb/s data rates  on 1, 2 & 4 lanes. The protocol analyzer provides a snap shot status view and deep analysis using captures of incoming DisplayPort 2.0 streams from source devices including DSC/FEC compressed streams. The M42d’s video generator can be used for testing silicon as well as devices such as displays, USB-C adapters, extenders, etc. The video generator offers a large library of standard video timings and test patterns necessary for testing next generation high resolution displays.

The M42d now provides a Passive Probe feature, based on Teledyne LeCroy's cutting-edge T.A.P.4™ technology, enables full monitoring of the DisplayPort Main Link and the Aux Channel between two DisplayPort devices up to 20 Gb/s lane rates. For developers of Embedded DisplayPort (eDP), the M42d offers fast link training, alternate scrambler seed, Advanced Link Power Management (ALPM) and Tx backlight control. A pin header is available to provide access to the backlight Tx control test feature.

The M42d now supports testing for LTTPR-capable source devices through emulation of an LTTPR network in both the LTTPR "transparent" and "non-transparent" modes for 8b/10b and 128b/132b link rates.

The M42d now supports a partial set of the DisplayPort 2.0 Link Layer Compliance testing for source devices operating with the new 128b/132b line code and at the UHBR data rates.

NEW! The M42d now supports the DisplayPort LTTPR Compliance testing for LTTPR-capable source and sink devices and for LTTPR devices.

The M42d now supports the DisplayPort 2.0 Adaptive Sync functional and Compliance testing for source and sink devices.

Note: The M42d supports all DisplayPort certified compliance tests up to DisplayPort 1.4. Future DisplayPort 2.0 compliance tests will be added as they become available.

DP 1.4 Link Layer Source Compliance Test – Run source link layer compliance tests which test the link training and other functions at rates up to HBR3 rates.  Tests from the following Sections are supported: Link Training 4.3.1, Link Maintenance 4.3.2, Main Video 4.4.1/2, Main Audio 4.4.4, Power Management 4.4.3 and Forward Error Correction (FEC) 4.5.1.

DP 2.0 Link Layer & MST Source Compliance Test – Run limited set of source link layer compliance tests which test the link training and other functions at rates up to UHBR 20.0G rates.  Limited set of tests offering initially with more tests added over time.
